I live in a very hot desert area where it gets up to 115 degrees in the summer. The old gas range which was also LG and worked very well took so long to boil water and heated up my 1500sqft home pretty good causing my AC to work overtime. This new induction range boils water fast and dramatically reduces the amount of heat doing it. All of my kitchen appliances are LG so I wanted the handle to match my refrigerator and thankfully LG still had the model with the curved handle that matched my 4-year-old refrigerator. I was debating on whether I should get the sleek all digital control model or the old-style knob model and I picked the knobs and I am very happy I did. This induction range heats up so fast and changes temperature so fast that digital controls would be a nightmare. The old school knobs are so easy to reduce and raise the temperature fast. This is my first induction cooktop. Didn’t know what to expect, but I got to say, it is wonderful. It heats quickly and cooks evenly at different temperatures. The controls are easy to see and use. It has different settings, like simmering that works great. I really like the configuration of the controls as well. Did I mention how nice it looks on our counter, picture attached. When I got the cooktop it came with all the necessary instructions and warnings including how not to scratch the ceramic top. I was shocked (though I obviously shouldn't have been) to see that the water and electrical hookups had moved completely, making the install much more complicated for me. On the other hand, the newer leveling procedure is much nicer. Of course, we're still just getting used to it, but I fully expect this new Benchmark version to last at least as long as the old "800" model did, and be just as easy to live with. (Full disclosure, the old one would still be running fine if "someone" hadn't taken a tumble on the open door!) So far, my only quibble (and it's a large one) is that the Delay Start button has been moved to ONLY the app and is no longer on the control panel. At least let it be part of your Favorites settings! The Moen digital shower controller is a nice upgrade. We needed a controller on the opposite side of the shower from the shower head, so the water could be turned on without entering the shower. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3 stars for functionality, 5 stars for cleaning performance. This dishwasher does an amazing job at cleaning our dishes. So for that I highly recommend. However, it does have a few frustrating "features". The racks are difficult to use for a number of reasons. In the two months I've been using my machine, I still don't know the best way to load it. The top rack is OK (not great) but the bottom rack is bad. You can't put anything in the front half of the rack between the tines because everytime you push the rack in the dishes fall towards the back. I love having the flex tray at the top but the handle design is terrible and it is always coming loose. And on all the racks the tines that you can lay down never want to stay in place. The control panel has bright LED lights but the icons aren't lit up, which means at night when you want to use the machine you can't see the buttons because you're blinded by bright white light bars. Lastly, I put the machine online, which was handy for setting up washing cycles, but the other day it mysteriously disconnected from my phone and now I can't get the machine back online again.. Matt.
