Poles may have black spots, scratches, dings and other markings. These are natural and cannot be removed. Splits and cracks should not affect the durability of the bamboo as long as they do not go all the way through. Make sure any holes are pre-drilled prior to using screws etc.

Black bamboo has culms that are green when they first emerge from the ground, and within months they acquire the natural black color with dark-brown patches that give this bamboo a beautiful, rich, appearance. Our Timor black timber bamboo poles come in an average of 2-3 inches in diameter. They are made up of a thick wall of heavy bamboo and are crack-resistant.
