I purchased the LG LDTS5552S dishwasher and have experienced a persistent chemical odor since the beginning of ownership. The smell is difficult to describe precisely, but it resembles heated rubber, vinyl, petroleum products, or synthetic plastic. The odor becomes stronger as the dishwasher heats up and appears to be emitted from the lower vent area. The problem occurs even during normal operation without using the High Temp or Extra Dry settings. Over the past year I have tried numerous troubleshooting steps, including cleaning the filters repeatedly, running cycles without detergent, using dishwasher cleaning cycles, and removing additional plastic accessories from inside the machine. None of these actions resolved the issue. The dishes themselves do not retain the odor, but the heated air emitted by the dishwasher does. The smell is strong enough to travel beyond the kitchen and can sometimes be noticed on the second floor of the house. After more than a year of trying to live with this issue, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether and returned to washing dishes by hand because I am not comfortable having my family continuously exposed to the odor. What concerns me most is that this odor appears whenever the appliance is heated, suggesting that materials inside the unit may be releasing volatile compounds into the air. I do not know whether LG has evaluated the long-term impact of breathing these emissions during routine daily use, but I believe this is a legitimate concern that deserves attention. I am disappointed because otherwise the dishwasher performs well. If LG is aware of this issue or has a solution, I would genuinely appreciate a response. It has two round holes, one above and one below, but my pipe was positioned in the middle. We had to carefully cut open the area between the two holes to make it fit. Very consistent and the underside is very helpful with installation as it provides specific points where the 4 legs sit. The tubing is excellent quality and very easy to install. The leveling bolts could be slightly better looking. Perhaps another solution can be a customizable cover that you can trim to size to cover the leveling hex bolts. Thats is the one tiny oversight. The lavatory legs are high-quality, but did not adjust to the height that was mentioned in their description. The description said that the legs would adjust to 32 3/4", but they would only properly adjust to the sink bottom being only a maximum of 30 1/2" from the floor. The sink that I used them on, was 31" from the floor, so the escutcheon needed to go farther than the chromed legs until it was only covering the top adapter.
