This is a lovely set. The simple modern design is exactly what I was looking for and I love that the set comes with a number of serving pieces which came in very handy for Thanksgiving dinner. The only issue I had was that there were two forks and the second fork seems to be more like a dessert fork than an appetizer fork. Made from synthetic ceramic whetstone, this Japanese sharpening stone #1000 grit allows you to change the angle of the edge of the blade as well as repair it. The stone sharpens to your desired sharpness as well as creates a long-lasting sharpness through minimal work. It is safe to use on all knives except ceramic.

This 1,000 grit whetstone is a medium grit. You can use oil or water, no need to soak (It’s made from a synthetic material) you can just sprinkle on the oil or water and start sharpening. beautifully done, the best cutting steel, some quibbles: the gold(en) bolster accent is unfortunately a dissonance, the normal to this view profile of the handle is a fattish ellipse what makes the handle a bit too thick, I'm guessing this was intended for making the Micarta pattern look orderly, but on the ultimate cutting steel, which is prone to rusting (a reminder this is a tool, not an ornament) details should be subjects of function, not the superficial decor. I just unpacked a box of Kramer knives. I had sent knives in to be sharpened and the post office lost my parcel. Shout out to Knife Aid who replaced my beloved Japanese knives with a selection of Bob Kramer Meiji cutlery. The quality is readily apparent. Made from synthetic ceramic whetstone, this Japanese sharpening stone #400 grit allows you to change the angle of the edge of the blade as well as repair it. The stone sharpens to your desired sharpness as well as creates a long-lasting sharpness through minimal work. It is safe to use on all knives except ceramic.
