beautifully done, the best cutting steel, some quibbles: the gold(en) bolster accent is unfortunately a dissonance, the normal to this view profile of the handle is a fattish ellipse what makes the handle a bit too thick, I'm guessing this was intended for making the Micarta pattern look orderly, but on the ultimate cutting steel, which is prone to rusting (a reminder this is a tool, not an ornament) details should be subjects of function, not the superficial decor. This is a lovely set. The simple modern design is exactly what I was looking for and I love that the set comes with a number of serving pieces which came in very handy for Thanksgiving dinner. The only issue I had was that there were two forks and the second fork seems to be more like a dessert fork than an appetizer fork. This 1,000 grit whetstone is a medium grit. You can use oil or water, no need to soak (It’s made from a synthetic material) you can just sprinkle on the oil or water and start sharpening.
