I washed it in cold water right out of the package and dried it on low for about 20 mins, the corners were still kind of damp so I draped it over the couch and let it air dry the rest of the way, and I am happy to report that I had no issues with pilling, shedding, color transfer or anything weird happening in the dryer. As I was shopping for a plush throw those are the issues that seemed to pop up in various reviews of other throws, so that is why I am mentioning I did NOT have any of these issues with this throw.
