I recently had siding put on my home. My contractor sort of refused to put my old awnings back on the house - rightfully so - would have been awful! So, I started searching for suitable choices. Many were negated because they wouldn't have mounted to the siding correctly. Then I found this (and a larger one for my front door but got that one elsewhere as Wayfair didn't have that size) and realized that a mounting kit could be purchased for vinyl siding! Hooray! It's gorgeous - so minimalistic and really matches the house. It hasn't rained yet so I don't know how well it will shield but at least it looks pretty. Love this canopy, it provides a good amount of shade but still lets some light through and the price was very reasonable. I received it within a week of ordering and all parts were in good shape, with the exception of one bolt head that had a manufacturing defect. It took about 4 hours to build with two people and required a ladder. It's not complicated to put together, just requires a lot of tightening bolts. Getting the first joists on while also holding the bracing was a little challenging but once you get a couple it on it can hold It's own weight a bit more. It will require being attached to the ground and wall to maintain stability. Pro tip: remove the label stickers as you go so you don't have to climb back up on the ladder later to take them off.
