We just had it installed yesterday. Recommend that you get a print out of the specifications and the installation. From what I was able to read in Wayfare’s description section, we would be able to install the unit flush with the ceiling. And unfortunately, because I didn’t have printed specifications we had to drop down the unit a foot from the ceiling. Not the inconspicuous flush mount unit and I was hoping for. According to my contractor, this was a very complicated unit to install. To be fair this is a relatively new category of range top hoods that are being offered. Pleased with the noise level, but have yet to cook with it. Read reviews from other previous purchasers, and a common statement was how small the remote controller was. With the exception of one assembly step, this was a straightforward one strong person unpacking and assembly. At one point they want you to have the base stood up on its side so that the pillars can be slid through the holes in the bale. I made a support of the shipping boxes to support the then horizontal heavy pillars parallel to the floor while I attached them. ALSO: do the later steps that require you to work at the bottom while the stand is already on its side. The motor runs smoothly but I haven't attached tho 100" screen to it yet—I don't expect that will be a problem. Unit is defective from manufacturer. Contractor installed and the hood will not raise up. I know electrical controls pretty well and after doing some troubleshooting the button to raise the hood gets no power from the board and the fuse is in good condition. Hope it gets fixed quickly..
