The bottom metal piece is extremely heavy and it is so difficult to screw in the 3 metal bars from the bottom. The screws took forever to get going and were very difficult to screw in. When we used a drill, it snapped the screw in half. There’s no soft surface for the cats either, you have to put something separate on top. This is a really stylish light with a modern take on mid century vibes. The light is a little bit of work to assemble because each little spiked detail is screwed in individually. Outside of that installing is a breeze. The spiked detail is a hollow tube which I didn’t notice, but also don’t mind it. It does give really great light and I’m using this as an overhead light in a bedroom that is being used as an office. Ok i usually dont do reviews but felt i had to on this first off this is very very well made. Its easy to to put together and cat ready in literally 20 minutes by myself!! And the bad marks about it not being sturdy i simply do not get either they did something wrong or there ceiling is just too tall. I can see that happening. If u have tall ceiling then the adjusting rod will be extended to far and cause a wobble. I sent a picture of the rod adjusted on mine and believe me it is very sturdy. Perfect for a tight space! We are in an apartment and didnt have much room to spare. The spots on this cat tree are perfectly sized for my 10lb babies. It was pretty easy to put together, maybe took me an hour. Its been up for 2 weeks and is staying in place and the cats like it! The ceiling brace comes with a long and a short option. But my apartment ceiling was juuuust too tall (106 inches). So I had to shove the short peg on top of the tall peg. It worked pretty good, the tree is secure even though it is a bit wobbly.. Kelly.
