Super happy with this. Was using one of those litter boxes that look like a pot with a plant in it. Plastic got scratched and it started holding on to odors and dirt. The area inside was a bit small for my big guy. This rattan box is a really beautiful choice if you’re looking for something more elevated. I use a stainless pan and its perfect. I love how open it is. I kind of wish this one came with the step. Im not sure if the cats would use it, though. I already have one, and it has the front opening. My cats are both good size. This ones a little bit easier. I think for cats to go in and out of. Im not sure how long the bottom piece will last as it seems to be more material than hard plastic. I have had this now for about a month and I love it. I plan on getting another one and replacing the other one as they use this one most often. The other is the typical small opening and the waste draw is small and always needs to be adjusted as nothing falls forward and I can't find the right size bags, no company to order supplies from.. Being a cat rescuer as well as now a Senior Citizen, I have been thinking about getting a self-cleaning Litter Box for quite a while. Having to clean several litter boxes several time a day can be quite trying on us Seniors. This unit is quite nifty. However it only works for my three smaller fur babies. It really does not accommodate larger cats, of which I have several My little fearless one likes it and does mind the sound. However, I just had to turn the power button off, if I want some of my others to use . If you have smaller kitties this will work fine. Not great for bigger cats.
