Beautiful rug! Its very soft but thin, which makes sense with the economical price. Overall I really like it. If you want thicker, youll need a rug pad but Im ok with the thin. I did have to set things like books and furniture on the bumps after unrolling it, but it flattened quickly. The rug was packaged very well and it was easy to open. We just sat it in place and rolled it open. There is no smell at all. Some of the top and bottom edge will need to relax to lay completely flat. The rug looks a little bit different in color than the picture. However it is because of the deep shag.
