The "Dove" color is in between tan and gray. I would call it taupe. I have not seen another rug like this. It seems to be made very well and I had no issues with the fringe. Normally I don't like a fringed rug (OCD) but the fringes are sewn onto a kind of wire? so they don't flop around and they don't look like they will fray. If you love jute or sisal look but don't want the smell or the shedding, it's a great alternative. My only knock is that it's very thin, but it's made for outdoors so it would be perfect for a dining room! It's in my guest bath now but I will be moving it to my kitchen. Because it's so flat, it won't be a tripping hazard and I don't think I'll have to worry about stains. I will be purchasing more in other sizes and that says a lot because I'm usually very picky about my rugs. For once I'm happily surprised, not disappointed! The quality of the fabric is great, but we note 2 differences from our last umbrella. One is that this one is taller, and seems to be a bit top heavy. We have it on the same glass octagon tables as our last one, but in just a couple of days of use, we’ve had to catch it from toppling the table. We have since added additional weights to the base to help secure it. The 2nd difference is that, when the umbrella is fully open and there is a heavier breeze, the umbrella tilts at the hinge because of the wind! To prevent this, we have lowered the umbrella a bit to have the sleeve sit right over the pole hinge, thus preventing it from tilting. Doesn’t seem right, as now the umbrella looks a bit saggy.
