Bought this to replace an aquasurge 4000 which died after 20 years. It arrived earlier then the estimated date which was good. Followed instructions which are straightforward. Pump was missing one washer which is described in the instructions but wasn’t included with the pump, luckily I had a spare (See white washer in photo). My 1st attempt I plugged it in and nothing happened. Had to disconnect piping and pull the pump up. Found it in two pieces in the bag! The motor housing side had separated from the impeller side which was a pain. Be sure you have the pump tightly closed when installing. Overall our pond is around 2000 gallons and this filter outdid itself. It took him around an hour to remove and install the new filter. Within several hours we could immediately tell the difference in the clarity of the water.
