Just what we needed for our new 12’ x 12’ cantilever umbrella to be able to move it around. Very big and sturdy base that supports the umbrella well. The only issue my husband was worried about was the fact smaller rocks could easily fall out through the large hole screen it comes with in the bottom of the squares. This is exactly what I needed to get rid of the big ugly base on my umbrella. The holes for the umbrella base are tapped for M8 bolts. The outer holes work for 14 bolts. The base is powder coated dark grey with some metallic flakes. This comes with 16 lag screws that are about 2” long. I didn’t use these as they wouldn’t sink far enough into the support joists.. This patio weight base is awesome! It arrived well packaged with everything you need to assemble the base including an Allen wrench and screwdriver. The instructions were easy to understand and the base was extremely easy and quick to assemble. To fill the base up, you lay it on its side. I opted to fill it with water since it is easy to dump out to move inside for any kind of tropical storm or hurricane preparedness. There are so many positive things about this base. First of all, I love the fact that it is on sturdy casters and can roll easily around to move the umbrella effortlessly. The casters have two lockable wheels that are easy to unlock and lock. Secondly, there are two pole adapters to fit smaller diameter poles. My umbrella pole is 1.49”, so having a smaller insert helps hold my umbrella pole sturdy.
