The "quiet" setting is very quiet. It doesn't give the cold cooling feeling that old air conditioners do and feels more like a central air conditioning system. My windows are non standard wide so I had to adjust the installation recommendations. Bought it for a 10 by 10 space and it kept the room UBER cold! My son would shut it off because the space would get so cold. I had the previous model and the door broke from opening to clean the filter. Therefore, it was nice to see they changed it to a pull out feature to clean the filter, which is better.
