We wanted to get a full size bed for our teen, but we also considered the size of his bedroom. This platfom bed takes up little visual space, allowing almost one foot of under-the-bed storage in which we picked up containers for odds and ends. The wood quality is great; I read specifications on quite a few of the beds and found this one to have few to little added chemicals. I love the look - that said, you get what you pay for. It is not solid wood, but it has a solid presence. This is the brown tone. The faux wood is more of an ash brown than warm brown. The biggest disappointment is that the headboard is unfinished in the back. It is not an issue unless you have a plan of having the bed in the middle of the room with the back of the bee exposed. The other reviews noted it was a challenge to assemble so we opted for Wayfair to arrange assembly. (That move was worrh every penny!!!) The bed arrived in two massive rectangular boxes weighing 85 and 75 pounds. The assembly person moved the awkward to handle boxes up two flights of stairs and that itself was valuable! The build took about 2 hours. Best aspect of the bed besides the look (which is what I wanted) is that it is great for our dog that had a hard time jumping on our taller bed. Put a ring on it. This is the one you've been waiting for. I've been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for a year or so now. I'd hemmed and hawed for quite some time over which bed frame to throw in this room, nothing quite hit just right. Then, this one popped up. It's simple, timeless, and minimally perfect. It goes great in a room with sloped or low ceilings. It makes a statement, but quietly and modestly. It checks all the boxes and does away with all the unnecessary bells and whistles some beds seem to have. It's lovely with honey oak floors, but truly would fit a variety of different styles. It took my husband about a half hour or so to assemble - and most of that was spent unboxing. Before putting it together, I added adhesive felt pads to the bottom legs for easy sliding and protection of wood floors. It's solid and well-engineered. It doesn't make a peep when getting on and off. I wouldn't be wasting my time writing this review if I didn't think so highly of this product.
