Bought this double screen door because we were screening the deck at our lake house. We have extra wide steps up to the deck and needed a door wider than the standard 32 or 36 inch. Listing said for width less than 68" it could be modified, so we decided to go for it. I was surprised, the instructions were complete, clear, and easy to follow. (So often you get the skimpy badly translated ones.) With a little help from a neighbor we got 2 sets, front and back of deck, installed in about 3-4 hours. Hubby is a metal fabricator, not a carpenter, but he said it was pretty easy once he understood their system. I would say it's a 2 person job, unless you're a really good carpenter. We have 1 side set as a stationary sidelight, only opening the other side. We'll put some planters or knick knacks on the steps in front of the stationary side. This reinforcement lock is very good quality. It was very easy to install, although I measured wrong the first time and had to move it. I bought this screen door for its ability to protect my glass panel front door from any hurricane damage. It has come through both Helene and Milton like a trooper. This bronze patio door handle is a surface with clamp latch style. Often found on older style patio doors, it is mounted on the door's inside frame and the clamp latch latches onto an extrusion (astragal) on the jamb. It has 1-13/16 in. handle height extruded aluminum inside handle. This clamp has a 3/16 in. profile but it is spring-loaded allowing 1/8 in. play in clamp profile height. The projection is 3/8 in.. The outside handle is a bronze low profile non-keyed handle. To key this unit order the Prime-Line part E 2071 lock cylinder.

Years ago, we installed a hunter green door with a digital lock in Texas, and it was fantastic. However, we eventually had to replace the digital lock. Unfortunately, the company shifted to high-volume production and now only offers key locks. Aside from that, it's a sturdy door. We also had the option of etched glass, but they decided to stick with standard glass instead, limiting our choices. It's disappointing! This white plastic inside handle (or pull) fits the Andersen Frenchwood, Narroline or Perma-Shield doors manufactured from 1982 to present. Installation tip #1: Because the fasteners of the rosettes (purchased separately) require a solid surface to mount to, the large 2-1/8 in. (approximate size) holes must first be filled with a hardening filler, to then be able to receive the rosette fasteners. Products like Fix-It-All® and Bondo body filler® have worked well for some, but care must be used to avoid damaging any prefinished door surfaces during application and finishing. Installation tip #2: Apply a small amount of loctite thread locker 271® to the set screw threads in the event they are loosening – Loctite® is purchased separately.

Confusion over the term "Pre Hung Double door" is the issue as a prehung double door in a lumber store is a set of two doors assembled together in a frame where as you install the complete unit into the opening waiting for it. The purchase we made came in three boxes, two door section which were "pre hung" as in welded to a side frame via metal hinges, there were two of these boxes and an third box with hardware to assemble the door set.
