Solid product BUT significant defect is NO DRAINAGE HOLES. Without them, expect anything planted to sit in soggy roil and rot. Had to buy drill bit and drill it out myself. I used Vulcan brand #028365, which is a 7/16” bit (just shy of 1/2 inch), the largest bit that will fit on a standard drill. Any hole smaller will clog readily and be useless. This is an inexpensive home-user brand readily available at many hardware stores. “Speed steel with a 135 deg split point eliminates the need for center punch and keeps drill from skating on hard surfaces.” Recommended for metals, but package also states plastics. You want the split point to keep the drill from skidding on slick plastic surface. Pain in the neck, though. Why does anyone make a planter without drainage!! I am OBSESSED with these! I've loved window boxes since living in Germany in the 1990s but always had a hard time finding ones to fit my deck railings. Planters with ridges in the bottom benefit the plant in various ways! For one, the ridges allow for better air circulation and soil aeration, in order to prevent root rot which can be very damaging to the plant. This birdbath has a copper bowl with a curled stem detail, an embossed leaf design, and a verdigris finish. The threaded base on the underside of the bowl attaches it to the center of the Over Railing Bracket. Ideal for porches, balconies, or deck rails, the wrought iron bracket has a C-type clamp that holds the bracket to a deck or handrail without the need for drilling or permanent mounting. Fits railings up to 5 1/2" wide and is designed with ample clearance for a curved top handrail.
