Very pleased with the awning. Fits the space just right. Assembly was not overly difficult but the instructions could have been a bit more detailed. I looked at several videos related to assembly of the out sunning awnings and even though they were not for this exact awning it helped immensely. I was able to do the complete assembly by myself but needed help to lift the awning into place on the brackets. I mounted the brackets in the rim joist between the first and second floors... as such I needed to purchase some lag screws as the anchors provided with the awning were suited more to mounting on brick or concrete. This is a fixed shutter-style product that is modular, DIY, and hand-crafted. The framework is made out of a beautiful commercial grade mill finish aluminum that is powder-coated and will not rust. The hardware is stainless steel and provides additional support to the durable frame. The powder-coating finishes are offered in black, bronze, copper, and pewter. Each finish has a resistant coating to help (1) maintain its rich color while being exposed to harsh UV rays, (2) prevent moisture and soil buildup on the frame, and (3) maintain a water-resistant barrier that allows for rain to roll off of the awning. Instructions are very bad. I have it half assembled and must now undo it and reassemble differently. The instructions are not clear as to part orientation. The pictures are too small to show the correct way to orient pieces. What seemed obvious was wrong. In addition there are many spelling errors in the instructions. Very happy so far! We put this pergola up one week ago and have been very happy with the aesthetic, shade, and simple functionality. Assembly was straightforward with the exception of a minor hiccup - the QR code that was supposed to link to assembly instructions did not work. We used a Mirador assembly video on YouTube as reference, and it went together relatively simply. Two people, two drills, and two ladders is the ideal assembly scenario. This will make it relatively quick and efficient. Have only tested in light rain so far, and it kept us dry as designed.
