Had we gone with the 13" we wouldn't have to touch up paint around it, but I also like that they aren't that noticeable and something bigger might have been too obtrusive as this is just a small rectangle between multiple rooms. You will need to order the springs from the company for them to work unless you have newer construction they won’t work. That being said, they seem like good quality.
