For exterior they would need to be installed in damp location such as a covered porch, soffit, etc.. A place where the fixtures would not receive direct saturation.

Honestly I haven’t had the chance to install this yet but I have several friends that have used these before and it didn’t seem to be difficult. We love this 48" long string of lights and how it brings warm light to any back patio or porch. The strand comes complete with 15 standard bulbs – they're evenly spaced with three feet between each socket. Plus, they're rated for wet locations, so they're safe to hang where they'll get direct exposure to water. Why don't you try picking up a few sets (sold separately) and connecting them?
