Had we gone with the 13" we wouldn't have to touch up paint around it, but I also like that they aren't that noticeable and something bigger might have been too obtrusive as this is just a small rectangle between multiple rooms. We love this 48" long string of lights and how it brings warm light to any back patio or porch. The strand comes complete with 15 standard bulbs – they're evenly spaced with three feet between each socket.
