Talked to customer service representative who was wonderful and immediately said the info was sent by the manufacturer to go on Wayfair website and that Wayfair was unaware that it wasn't cast iron. I looked for a long time for a chair like this one and I kept coming back to it. It was so worth it. The cover stays put so when you sit on it and then get up the cover is still in place. I'm not constantly having to adjust it when someone gets up. It is quality. The cover is made from nice fabric, heavy enough but soft and comfortable to the skin. I haven't had to take the cover off yet and wash it but it's sure nice to know I can. I also bought the sofa that matches the chair and wow it's gorgeous. Not one day have I been sorry for these purchases. I am very pleased. In my humble opinion it is better to buy quality rather than trying to save a buck.
