Beautiful desk set! Purchased the small and larger desk and hutch and all 3 came fully assembled. Everything was packaged well, no damage to any of the pieces. The boxes were extremely heavy and hard to move upstairs but aside from that it was nice to just unpack everything and move it into place. Trust me you need three people. If you don’t use three people, you may wind up in urgent care with a broken finger. This worked out even better than I'd hoped. For one thing, it's a lot more solid than most flat-pack, self-assemble pieces. The desk and hutch top in particular are almost as hefty as real hardwood. And although it takes a bit of effort to put together, the machining and alignment of parts was really good (at least for my unit). It's not unusual for some of these to need a little extra help squeezing things together because a couple of the pre-drilled holes are ~1/32" off true in different directions, but not this time. One caveat: because it's nice and heavy and doesn't skimp on the fastener points, getting the hutch bolted onto the desk can be pretty tough if you're doing it solo. You'd need a hell of a strong back if you wanted to stand over the desk holding the ~40lb hutch arms wide while you gently line it up with the 8+ bolts sticking out from the desktop. I managed to make it work by putting everything together face-down on the floor and shimming the hutch up with a couple of foam mattresses, then standing it up once everything was bolted together. Fortunately, the sturdiness of construction meant I wasn't worried it would split under its own weight while I levered the whole thing upright. P.S. The two compartments on the top lift up to open but sadly they do not lock in place to remain open, which could be a little inconvenient but there is a slow close on it so it does not slam closed. **TIP** there is a piece that covers the top so you can possibly sit items up there that is probably some type of mdf board and it probably blends in with the packaging and mine was thrown out, so just be mindful and ask for that piece. Do not buy this! The instructions where very clear but the way it is constructed it is not well built. We assembled the entire top portion of the bookcase, which went fine. However the parts they send to put it together with do not hold the joints tightly together like a piece of furniture should be. Constructing and attaching the base was one of the last steps. The base is only comprised of two large side panels and two narrow strips across the back, which the manufacturer apparently thinks is enough to support the large hutch on top. This is not the case - it is very wobbly and is dangerous, especially if you have small children. We were afraid to even touch it once it was standing and the base ended up breaking into pieces.
