It's better to have only three additional edges on back (front and two sides), the backsplash side should not have additional edge. The countertop looks really nice! It doesn't look like a cheap acrylic trying to look like quartz, it's actually good material. It does have some light veining in it that makes it look even better. Unfortunately our countertop arrived cracked in half so we can't see what it looks like installed.
