It's better to have only three additional edges on back (front and two sides), the backsplash side should not have additional edge. This is a very solid piece. The top comes in a separate box, the sinks were packed in the cabinet together in one smaller box. You have to set the sinks and then set the countertop which is definitely a 2 person job. The countertop looks really nice! It doesn't look like a cheap acrylic trying to look like quartz, it's actually good material. It does have some light veining in it that makes it look even better. Unfortunately our countertop arrived cracked in half so we can't see what it looks like installed.
