The only thing that surprised me was the length. I was expecting them to be longer than they are. For ease of assembly, I assume if you order lighting like this, you know you are going to have to hire an electrician or know how to install lighting. I give that 5 stars as somebody besides me is installing them. For looks/function, I give them 5 stars. They've made our kitchen look like it's been upgraded somehow (which is exactly what a guest at my house said last night before I told her it was the lighting!). For quality, I give them 5 stars. Very happy with this ceiling medallion. The light fixture I had originally ordered for the room felt too small and this gave it the dimension in the room that was missing. Pretty simple to install. We just used small finishing nails to secure it as flat as we could to the ceiling. Then caulked around the edge. We did not end up painting it because our ceiling was already white.. Nicole.
