Relatively easy install, just took time. Solid construction. There is a metal bar that runs under top bunk, that I purchased pipe foam insulation to cover it as I knew it was just a matter of time before a child hit there head really hard on it. While solid wood, it does indent/mark easily, I have two rambunctious boys who quickly put multiple dents in it and cracked the wood where the ladder attaches by pulling up on the ladder, but probably sonething similar would happen with any bed that we got!. I really like the features of the bunkbed and the size fits our space perfectly. The shelves are nice and the LED strips are cool for the bottom bunk. However, some flaws - The product is advertised as real wood, but the only real wood is the 4-post frame and bed slats. The sides and shelving are particleboard and thus are cheaper material. - Because it’s not 100 real wood I think it’s overpriced, but in the end would probably buy it again because of the shelving feature and the size fit our space perfectly. - LED strips only extend two sides of the frame and you can only control them with an app on your phone! (No remote!!) - The bottom drawer is very shallow and barely holds anything, maybe a couple of books. It also isn’t on a track so it slides all over the place. We ended up not using it. - The shelves are shallow and hold small fidget toys and water bottles. Excellent quality, super sturdy and very easy to assemble!!! My boys ages 11 and 9 helped me (their mom) build it in just a few hours! It’s sturdy enough that I am able to lay in the top bunk with my 11yr old and it holds up great, my husband is 300lb and lays on the bottom bunk with our 9yr old with no issues! Very solid! And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. The only complaint I have is that it came with absolutely no extra hardware incase a piece is broken or gets lost during set up, not a single extra bolt, screw or wooden dowel, but otherwise we are very happy with this purchase!!.
