Taking into account this product is designed to be installed in a camping trailer, I was a bit surprised that it was completely plastic. Online, it did not appear 100% plastic. I have been buying this coffee maker for years and love it. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to last very long, despite the regular care I give it, i.e., descaling when the light comes on and changing the water filters. And it gives NO warning when it decides to break. One morning I got up and NOTHING. I had power, it lit up and made the usual noises, but the water would not go into the brewer. More recently, I had one that would not hold water in the reservoir. I'd find water all over my countertop and on the floor the next morning.
