The only downside is the amount of space that it takes up when the gate is being left open which for us is 43” We have doors on both sides of the gates so if the gate is left open in either direction you slam into it with the door. I like this and I am small enough fit through the gate, but my elderly father has trouble with it and his caregiver has trouble fitting through it and opening and closing it.
