This desk is countertop height. I did not read the measurements as I assumed it was a standard desk height. I took 5 inches off each leg with a saw and it looks great. A little more work than I wanted to do but this is a solid well constructed desk. The top is preassembled you just have to assemble the legs. Very easy. Arrived with smashed corners, something that often happens to today's compressed paper furniture. Wayfair customer service was great. Got a replacement order. It was also damaged in the same way, to the same piece, in the same places. Not to manufacturer - make better furniture or consider corner protectors when shipping. Instructions were INSANELY frustrating and sorely lacking in clarity: holes on the piece that are not reflected on the drawings and vice versa, instructed to put in pegs that later HAVE to be removed in order to not break the piece to insert it in the manner they show, no explanation or indication of whether the drawing is showing the right side or back side, jumping to a next step with no intermediary step text or drawing to explain how you are supposed to defy physics and insert three pegs in diametrically opposing locations..
