This desk is countertop height. I did not read the measurements as I assumed it was a standard desk height. I took 5 inches off each leg with a saw and it looks great. A little more work than I wanted to do but this is a solid well constructed desk. The top is preassembled you just have to assemble the legs. Very easy. The desk is, indeed, solid acacia--even the drawers. The top is very thick, the finish is lovely, and the file drawer can handle either letter-sized or legal-sized file folders. One thing to note: the top is not perfectly rectangular; its long sides are somewhat irregular, reflecting the trees from which they were cut. Also, there are a few irregularities on the edges (I believe they are indented indicators of knots) which lend a slight "live edge" vibe. The buyer needs to be OK with this situation going into the purchase. Personally, I couldn't be more pleased with this desk.
