This desk is countertop height. I did not read the measurements as I assumed it was a standard desk height. I took 5 inches off each leg with a saw and it looks great. A little more work than I wanted to do but this is a solid well constructed desk. The top is preassembled you just have to assemble the legs. Very easy. Well built and 7 years in, still cooking along. There are some dings, but it has resisted scratching remarkably well. The color has gotten redder over time, which I don't love with warm colored furniture, but it hasn't turned orange, which is the worst.
