Super soft and the no slip backing is pretty good. I like the long runner I bought as the pattern - which is kind of busy - has space to breathe. The colors are a bit more purple than I thought but overall it works in my kitchen. The smaller one I bought (18 x 24) is not as great as the pattern fels cluttered. This is a beautiful Puccio runner rug. It has nice thick feel and is very soft. The colors are a great neutral scheme. It is perfect for the entry from the sunroom and blends well into the dining room. The colors hide pet hair well. It is the perfect height for robot vacuums.
