There are little legs on the bottoms of each corner hardware, with a little rubber foot. The is nice because the glass itself is setting up (and not on) the mantel surface. This arrived well packaged with no issues. It is heavy duty. Its made up of 4 glass panels with corner connectors you attach yourself using a Philips screwdriver. I would not use my firepit without it since it protects those sitting near from the flames blowing their direction, or being blow out.
