Wax Ring Was Terrible The included wax ring was low quality — it crumbled and failed to form a proper seal. I had to replace it with a better aftermarket wax ring to stop slow leaks and reduce odors. This added time and cost to the install that shouldn’t be necessary. Buy a high-quality wax ring with a rubber gasket or flange before installation — it’s almost essential with this toilet. One major let-down was the toilet seat lid It’s made of thin plastic that doesn’t feel sturdy. It flexes too much and doesn’t give a sense of durability. Compared to higher-end soft-close seats, this feels like the weakest part of the whole toilet. Side Screw Covers Do Not Fit This was one of the most frustrating parts The side covers that are supposed to hide the mounting screws do not fit. They won’t snap on or screw on properly. As a result, the mounting screws are fully visible, which ruins the clean, finished look the toilet is supposed to have This feels like a design or manufacturing defect, not user error.. Kim. We had this system installed in our remodeled bathroom in September 2023. For the most part, it has worked beautifully and we've been ecstatic with it. However, it is not without issues. It has to be re-paired with Amazon Alexa every 3 months, unlike every other Alexa skill out there. Why? Who knows. Because Kohler says so, I guess. Lately it has been needing to be re-paired every 2 weeks (today was the 3rd time). Also today it said there's a firmware update, but when I go to update I get a message that the shower is offline and I need to check the wifi connection. How? There's no wifi settings on the shower setup or in the app, or in my Kohler account anywhere. There is an Advanced/Locked section of settings that requires a PIN on the in-shower control and I have no idea what the PIN is or how to find it; we didn't set it and we can't get into these settings. We just had it installed yesterday. Recommend that you get a print out of the specifications and the installation. From what I was able to read in Wayfare’s description section, we would be able to install the unit flush with the ceiling. And unfortunately, because I didn’t have printed specifications we had to drop down the unit a foot from the ceiling. Not the inconspicuous flush mount unit and I was hoping for. According to my contractor, this was a very complicated unit to install. To be fair this is a relatively new category of range top hoods that are being offered. Pleased with the noise level, but have yet to cook with it. Read reviews from other previous purchasers, and a common statement was how small the remote controller was.
