Easy to follow instructions. Took maybe an hour to assemble. Sturdy. I didn’t fasten to the wall. The back is open but it has a piece to brace the frame and make it more sturdy. I only added the separator to the one of the doors so. For reference, top pairs are women size 7.5 and kid’s size 1. The bottom is men size 10.5 and 11. It will only fit my husband’s size 13 without the separator and put them in sideways. We will just his shoes underneath. Very pretty. I’m happy I purchased it. I ordered the hall tree in walnut. I paid to have it assembled and it took no more than 90 minutes for the technician to complete the assembly. This is a narrower hall tree that fits my small entryway perfectly. I especially appreciate the cubby holes for shoes, which hold up to 8 pairs.
