This cart is just the right size for a small “kitchen island” it’s a landing spot when I’m pulling multiple items out of the refrigerator and a good place to set up drinks or plates and utensils when we are entertaining. This cart is functional, pretty, and exactly what I needed for my kitchen space. Solid wood, easy to put together. The instructions were clear, and easy to follow. It lost one star because I only received one cabinet knob, not two, and had to run to the hardware store to purchase replacements to complete the build. The customer service center was closed for the weekend by the time I realized the error, but regardless I wanted it completed, so off I went. Replacement knobs in hand, the rest of the assembly went smoothly. Getting the top placed correctly was a teensy bit tricky, I do wish there had been some indication as to what was the front or back, but I managed to get it done. - First impression once assembled, looks just like the model online. However, the wood top had 2 damaged areas 1 a scratchgouge, another that had a stain that someone tried to color in and varnish over. We had put so much work that when we noticed it, we were an hour in and didnt want to have to wait for a new one. - Assembly with two people, it took about 2 12 hours to assemble. It was a pretty simple process, but they were just a lot of pieces. There were two times that the instructions were unclear in terms of the direction certain pieces had to go in, and in other areas it seemed like the steps could have been done in a better way. But overall it was simple but tedious. Instructions would earn a 94 out of 100. Finished we are very happy with the entries result. It goes really well with our other furniture and the sage green color is really pretty. I like the extra space with the flip top wood on top, but part of me wishes that the extra piece was on the other side. Also, since we use this for a space between our kitchen and dining room, the paper towel holder seems a little out of place. If it was just for the kitchen it would make sense. But thats a personal preference. The drawers are nice and deep, and the shelves are movable so that you can adjust them to various heights if your needs change. Overall we are very happy and glad that we saved the assembly fee. The reasons for not giving a five star two gouges on the wood top, and a few areas of the instructions had to be figured out. I love the island! It did take a long time to put together (for 1 woman with no power tools) but the directions were straightforward. There are A LOT of screws (48 just on the cabinet doors) so a power screw driver would save a lot of time. A second person would also be very helpful. It is heavy. It came in 2 boxes and took 45 minutes just to unpack and check the pieces. I spent about 4 hours each over 2 days. A second person could easily cut the time in half because they could split tasks, like building the drawers and putting hardware on cabinets doors while the other builds the base.
