This is a fantastic portable AC! It works exceptionally well and I love its features, like how the vents move in opposite directions for maximum breeze and how the temperature display is also a thermostat. Portable is debatable, because it weighs 70 lbs. I am not strong, and I thought I would need to hire someone to help my husband get it up 2 flights of stairs. But then I cut out two holes near the top of the box to use as handholds and that provided all the extra help I needed. After it was delivered, I let it sit there for a couple of days and then I did not turn on the AC for another two days after dragging it up the stairs. The only problem was mine, because the window frame is 26 inches wide and the panel where the hose attaches and feeds out is almost 27 inches. I had to measure the excess and use a small hacksaw to saw off the tiny bit of excess plastic. Luckily this was not particularly difficult! I'd love to give it 4.5 stars, rather than 5 even. The A/C itself works flawlessly, which is what I so badly need in my home office during the height of the summer. It loses a little bit of ranking because, as others have noted, the slide bar for the exhaust hose is rather difficult to use and does little to provide any insulation. It does, however, provide a little more insulation, and isn't AS difficult to use, as some reviewers are saying. Nevertheless, I'm going to build my own window frame for the exhaust hose to get a better fit, and have much better insulation. That being said, I was expecting to build this regardless of what model I ended up buying, so I'm still going to give this a 5-star review - in the end, it does exactly what I want it to do, and it does it VERY well with little in the way of negatives.
