I've seen many complaints about the 1" thick filters and while I understand their concerns; a 1" thick filter is old technology and should consider getting a larger filter box. I find the complaints about the tabs holding the pleats in the filter where you may have to push a few back trivial. You're buying a MERV 11 equivalent disposable filter, again DISPOSABLE. It wasn't long ago when everyone was just using the blue fiberglass air filters.. There is a balance between retail cost and manufacturing cost.
