The compact feature of this unit is great and it did not produce any notable scent and some brands do. I bought this because as an insurance policy for my new building space after being exposed to mold previously. Well it turned out to be a great idea because just a few weeks later mold in the new space was revealed. This is a great Air Conditioning unit! It came assembled and with all the pieces needed to run outside. We have it set up on a sun porch and love how fast it cools the space.
