I ordered this to have another hob for when preparing larger meals and entertaining. Sadly, the description was not very clear that it was induction and required induction compatible cookware. This has since been added. I did not have compatible cookware, which was an excuse to buy a new set. Never having used induction before, I did not know what to expect. It is going to take some trial and error to use the temperature setting, but I have to say it steeped a pot of tea in five minutes! From the photo you can see in five minutes the temperature was over 160 degrees. The fan is not too loud, but something to note if you have never used an induction plate before. The instruction manual is basic, so I will have to play around with this to learn all of its features. With that being said, I think I will really like this hob! We cook A LOT, and we're a longtime Bosch family, and even though it's taking some getting used to cooking on induction vs. open flame, in general we're loving this appliance because it fits our limited available space, it's very intuitive to use, and it's super-easy to clean! On "con" = we find we're having to be extra-careful not to drag heavy pots across the cooktop (as we'd gotten used to doing on the very rugged cast iron grate of our gas cooktop at home) - this induction cooktop surface definitely feels more "delicate" than our gas cooktop grate.
