We installed this patio pergola over our concrete slab and it completely changed the feel of the backyard. The frame feels sturdy once anchored down and the size is perfect for a table and grill area. Assembly took some time but the instructions were clear and all the parts lined up correctly. After installation it looks very clean and modern against the house — neighbors even asked where we bought it. It’s been through wind and sun already and everything still feels solid. Quality materials and straight forward build. Instructions can be difficult to interpret and identify correct component orientation as they read more for an engineer to use than an end-user without technical building prowess. The unit comes in a multitude of pieces and expect a 3 to 4-hour build time to do it correctly depending on your skill level. It is daunting opening and spreading out the pieces due to the amount. The sheet metal comes laminated with clear plastic which has scratches and marks. I suppose you could remove the plastic but I chose to leave it in place. There was one metal component that was press bent incorrectly but I was able to remedy using a metal punch and hammer to relocate the screw holes to the other side.
