This outdoor garbage shed is a solid buy. Once it’s put together, it feels sturdy and well made, and it does a great job hiding trash cans and keeping the area looking clean. Quality materials and straight forward build. Instructions can be difficult to interpret and identify correct component orientation as they read more for an engineer to use than an end-user without technical building prowess. The unit comes in a multitude of pieces and expect a 3 to 4-hour build time to do it correctly depending on your skill level. It is daunting opening and spreading out the pieces due to the amount. The sheet metal comes laminated with clear plastic which has scratches and marks. I suppose you could remove the plastic but I chose to leave it in place. There was one metal component that was press bent incorrectly but I was able to remedy using a metal punch and hammer to relocate the screw holes to the other side. Instructions were very easy to follow, still took me several hours to assemble though… the doors were very difficult to get on and sit a bit crooked. This retractable pergola would have been the perfect solution in my damaged patio enclosure way back 2010. The issue I initially had is the color of the canopy. The color of the canopy is dark gray that is close to black which is as I see in the photo looks is lighter. The reply to my wish to switch this canopy turns disappointing because this is the only one they have. I had it already installed by my paid installer so no way I can return the whole item. I like the materials all in all.. Heavy and strong. I cannot move the box compared to the first one that I ordered in other store which I did not even open because I can tell by the weight of the item shipped. That is the reason why I still make a 4 star review and I accepted the 10% refund to use as remedy and buy a fabric paint that will make the canopy water proof . Water leaks when it rains. I still love this because of being retractable and really fits half of my patio enclosure that has still the screened structure around intact even without the roof that was damaged by the snow storm in 2010. I use my patio as my workshop room and growing plants . I will be buying another one to complete the whole enclosure project. I was impressed with the quality of the materials and the instructions were pretty clear. I put mine on top of of a concrete pad. Also did a row of cinder blocks, which required a little customizing where the door fit in the wall. This shed was super easy to assemble. I am a 5' 3" 67 year old female and it took me an hour and 45 minutes to complete. Approximately 15 minutes of that was sorting and verifying parts. The instructions suggested two people to assemble floor, and that probably would have helped, but I was able to do it myself. My foundation was already in place. Getting the sides to slide into the slots properly required a rubber mallet. Finished product holds my self-propelled snow blower and my Snow Joe battery operated snow blower with extra room.. Terry.
