The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. Love this! Debated about the purchase for a while, but finally went for it, and my cats are in love. Its sturdy and assembly instructions are straight forward. Plenty of room for both of my large cats (about 12-14 lbs each). I added some finer screening around it to keep bugs out (just stapled it to the frame) and created a wood frame that fits inside my window so it can be secured without attaching it to the exterior of my house. So far I'm loving this automatic litter box. It does a good job of separating waste and the waste bin is fairly large. It came with a box of 45 waste bags as well as a litter mat which was a nice bonus I wasn't expecting. Because it's open on the top, it never fully closes when working so there's no danger of a cat getting stuck. It also has sensors that I tested with my hands to make it stop if it detects something in the box while it's cleaning and the sensors worked well. We just got this and initially it seems that our cat isn’t sure what to make of it. The construction is sound and it’s easy to charge and comes with a use charger. It is easy to clean and quiet. It comes with several extra filters so the water will stay clean. We are happy with the product and are hopeful that our cat will start using it.
