I needed a slender profile floor lamp for a dark corner. Wasn't entirely sold on the attached task light, but am finding it useful for some unobtrusive, directional light on the wall when used alone. The top glass cone's light is quite bright, and I may use it only in the daytime. Would'a given it 5 stars if it had a clear electrical cord. WHY do lamp manuf's continue to use black?! Why provide a black cord when, as with this lamp, extra cord won't retract into the lamp base?
