UPDATE#1: So, yes, it sheds an enormous amount. We bought 2 we loved it so much--and we have had both professionally cleaned--and since that it is definitely less plush and fluffy because a ton of wool yarn got pulled out. It was either that or clog up our vacuum with shedding wool every time we vacuumed. So, now the pile is one height instead of the really cool multiple textures it came with. But that's ok. UPDATE#1: changed from 5 stars to 4stars--the reason is (and I kind of ignored that other reviews DID say this) altho GORGEOUS and hand-loomed, it is not well made, such that the tufts of rug pull out immediately. You cannot vacuum this rug--you have to carefully sweep or carpet-sweep. You know when a cat scratches a rug and maybe you see a little something where they sharpened their claws? With this rug, the wool pulls right out, all over the place, in big blobs. I am so sad about this. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a work of art. Liked it so much we ordered a 2nd after immediately receiving the first. I wish I could personally thank the people who hand-tufted this rug. It took a couple of months to receive, but that's ok.
