I just love my new cooktop. The design makes it really easy to clean. In terms of performance, I noticed that cook times are a little bit shorter. The gas dial has a wide range, so I can go from very low to high flame. Also having an additional burner is great. I can have multiple meals going at the same time. This is my first induction cooktop. Didn’t know what to expect, but I got to say, it is wonderful. It heats quickly and cooks evenly at different temperatures. The controls are easy to see and use. It has different settings, like simmering that works great. I really like the configuration of the controls as well. Did I mention how nice it looks on our counter, picture attached. When I got the cooktop it came with all the necessary instructions and warnings including how not to scratch the ceramic top. I was shocked (though I obviously shouldn't have been) to see that the water and electrical hookups had moved completely, making the install much more complicated for me. On the other hand, the newer leveling procedure is much nicer. Of course, we're still just getting used to it, but I fully expect this new Benchmark version to last at least as long as the old "800" model did, and be just as easy to live with. (Full disclosure, the old one would still be running fine if "someone" hadn't taken a tumble on the open door!) So far, my only quibble (and it's a large one) is that the Delay Start button has been moved to ONLY the app and is no longer on the control panel. At least let it be part of your Favorites settings! Please amplify the alert or allow the user to set the volume on alerts. Some folks may be harder of hearing than others. • Storage drawer is large enough to store unused oven racks as well as (separately acquired) broiler pans. • Warming center (a great feature) on cooktop passed the melted butter test (i.e. keeping butter in melted but not over-heated state) • Instead of two large burners in the front, the cooktop would be much more useful if one of the burners in the front could allow the user to select either a larger burner circumference or a smaller one. Sometimes, a smaller burner is the only one needed. (Tea for two, for example.) • Oven door projects into the room a bit more than I expected, but is not obtrusive for my galley kitchen. • The oven shuts off when the timer reaches the set time. Lights arrived packed properly And all of them do work properly. The ability to tilt the lights is a great feature. If you choose to keep them flush they do not look as if they are tiltable which is a more high-end look. The multi-choice Kelvin feature is very helpful. The cooktop burners are very fast and precise. As a bonus, I notice almost zero of the buzzing that I've gotten on other induction cooktops. The only negative I've encountered so far is that even using conduction, I find some pretty noticeable hot spots (or cold ones) when I roast something (I see this when I do cauliflower, for instance, and a part is getting to the nice roasty stage and the rest is still white and not quite there).. These are great lights. The adjustable feature for color temperature works very well, and the lights themselves seem to be of good quality.
