The compact feature of this unit is great and it did not produce any notable scent and some brands do. I bought this because as an insurance policy for my new building space after being exposed to mold previously. Well it turned out to be a great idea because just a few weeks later mold in the new space was revealed. Just without the ozone I have seen a difference in air quality. However, my friend who is a non smoker could still smell cigarette smoke so I will put the ozone on 1 or 2 as ozone can be dangerous to people, pets, and plants.
