We used these tiles in a bathroom because they are slightly rough, nonslip, nonabsorbent and tough. We cut them in half so they appear to match an existing tile/brick outside of the bathroom. The tiles look beautiful but make sure you measure for them. They are much thicker than standard tile. I think if I had realized that I would not have purchased them.
